Cheap Trick addresses backlash on Trump Kennedy Center Honors performance

The rock band Low-cost Trick launched an announcement defending their efficiency on the Kennedy Heart Honors ceremony hosted by President Donald Trump earlier this month.

In the course of the ceremony on December 7, Low-cost Trick carried out the tune “Rock And Roll All Nite” in tribute to the band KISS, whose members have been among the many night’s winners.

After receiving some backlash from followers for his or her efficiency at a Trump-sponsored occasion, the band took to Instagram on Wednesday to make clear that the choice had nothing to do with politics.

“We have been requested to carry out at this 12 months’s Kennedy Heart Honors ceremony to pay tribute to our lifelong brothers in KISS, and to help artists and the humanities,” the band wrote. “We agreed to do it for these causes, and no others.”

Fox Information Digital contacted the Kennedy Heart for remark.

Different honorees included nation legend George Strait, Hollywood star Sylvester Stallone, Broadway icon Michael Crawford and Grammy Award-winning singer Gloria Gaynor.

Trump started main the John F. Kennedy Heart for the Performing Arts after being elected chairman of the board in February. Since his appointment, Trump has sought to reform the Kennedy Heart after accusations that it promoted a woke agenda.

In the course of the ceremony, Trump appeared to substantiate that he had performed a significant function in choosing the honorees alongside the Particular Honors Advisory Committee.

“I used to be about 98% concerned… all of them got here by means of me,” Trump informed reporters.

Trump can be the primary president to personally host the Kennedy Heart awards.

The forty eighth annual Kennedy Heart Honors occurred on December 7 on the Kennedy Heart in Washington, DC, and can air on December 23 on the CBS Tv Community and on Paramount+.

White Home Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt introduced Thursday that the Kennedy Heart board has voted unanimously to rename the establishment the “Trump-Kennedy Heart.”
