DC delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton scammed over $4,000 by fake workers at home

An 88-year-old Democratic congressional consultant for Washington, DC, was scammed out of greater than $4,000 on Thursday when suspects confirmed up at her house claiming to be a “cleansing crew,” Fox Information Digital has confirmed.

The suspects had gained entry to Eleanor Holmes Norton’s bank card after being allowed into her DC house.

Based on her, they charged her bank card nearly $4,362 for duct and fireside cleansing whereas doing no work WRC TV.

Somebody described by Norton’s workplace as a home supervisor stopped and reported the alleged fraud after confirming that there was no appointment for HVAC providers.

Her workplace informed the information station: “The congresswoman employs a home supervisor who oversees all upkeep providers, so she initially assumed her workers had organized the go to and supplied her bank card for fee.

“After notifying her house supervisor, who reviewed Ring doorbell footage and confirmed that no such appointment had been scheduled, the incident was instantly reported to police.”

U.S. Capitol Police arrived at Norton’s house after the alleged crime to ensure Norton was protected. Out of an abundance of warning, a police automobile was parked outdoors her house as a result of the suspects have been “assured they’d come again,” a supply informed Fox Information.
