Early voting underway in Oakland County
Early voting is underway for many communities in Oakland County, with elections on November 4.
However not all. South Lyon, Brandon Township and Groveland Township aren’t choosing early voting this time.
South Lyon Secretary/Treasurer Lisa Deaton instructed The Oakland Press in September that it prices the town $5,000 for early voting, and that is an excessive amount of. The state permits communities to decide out of early voting if the one points on a poll are native. Deaton stated the turnout in South Lyon is just too small to justify the price.
Voters can nonetheless request and choose up absentee ballots or vote in individual on November 4.
