Man salting roads shot dead in pickup truck in Pontiac

A 52-year-old Pontiac man was discovered useless in his pickup truck Saturday night, November 29, from a number of gunshot wounds. Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a suspect inside about two hours.

Killed was Antonio Jason Craig, 52, of Pontiac. Officers on patrol encountered a pickup truck geared up with a salt spreader stopped in the midst of Karen Courtroom, simply south of Hopkins Avenue, shortly earlier than 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Officers discovered Craig unconscious within the truck and instantly tried life-saving measures, discovering Craig had a number of gunshot wounds. He was later pronounced useless.

A number of Okay-9 items and a drone unit had been dispatched by the sheriff’s workplace to help the investigation. A possible suspect was recognized and members of the sheriff’s workplace’s Directed Patrol Unit adopted the suspect and stopped a car by which he was a passenger. The suspect, a 26-year-old Pontiac man whose identify has not but been launched, was arrested Saturday round 9:40 p.m. within the parking zone of a Waterford Township restaurant.

The suspect is being held within the Oakland County Jail. Detectives are anticipated to show the case over to prosecutors for arraignment on Tuesday, December 2.
