Oakland schools tech administrator earns national award
Oakland ISD Trustee Dwight Levens Jr. has obtained the 2025 Exemplary Service and Innovation for Technological Development Award.
This nationwide award acknowledges people who’ve demonstrated excellent management and innovation in advancing academic expertise.
Levens, Jr. is the chief expertise and data officer for Oakland Colleges, which serves greater than 175,000 college students and 40,000 educators in 28 public college districts.
Levens’ staff is liable for tutorial expertise teaching and modernization of cybersecurity and software help infrastructure statewide.
The division’s initiatives embody the AI Collective, which explores purposes of synthetic intelligence in schooling throughout all 28 districts.
