Spain train crash leaves 21 people dead, 100 hurt in Córdoba province: report

The accident occurred about 10 minutes after the Iryo practice left Córdoba.

The Iryo practice was recognized as a Freccia 1000 practice carrying greater than 300 passengers, whereas the opposite practice was operated by Renfe and had about 100 individuals on board, Reuters reported.

A lady, who mentioned she was a passenger on the Iryo practice, described chaotic scenes through the derailment.

“Ten minutes after departure the practice began to shake significantly and derailed from carriage 6 behind us. The lights went out,” she wrote on X.

The lethal derailment comes simply days after a separate rail catastrophe in Thailand, through which at the least 22 individuals have been killed when a development crane collapsed onto a transferring passenger practice, inflicting it to derail and catch hearth.
