Dan Bongino to exit FBI in January as deputy director

FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino is leaving the bureau in January after hypothesis arose this week about his departure.

“I will likely be leaving my place on the FBI in January,” Bongino wrote in a message X message Wednesday. “I wish to thank the president [Donald] Trump, A.G [Pam] Bondi and director [Kash] Patel for the chance to serve with objective. Most significantly, I wish to thanks, my fellow Individuals, for the privilege of serving you. God bless America and all those that defend her.”

President Donald Trump alluded to the information earlier within the afternoon on the tarmac at Joint Base Andrews, saying, “Dan did an amazing job. I believe he needs to get again to his present.”

Bongino, a former Secret Service agent, had no FBI expertise earlier than Trump tapped him to serve second-in-command.
