New lane closures coming on I-696 in Oakland County

Motorists will meet on Friday 7 March on the Western I-696 in Westbound I-696 in Southeast Oakland County.

From Friday from 9 a.m. to three p.m. these closures are in pressure:

-Dequindre Highway to M-1/Woodward: The left lane is blocked (three lanes open).

-M-1/Woodward to Coolidge Freeway: the 2 left courts are blocked (two jobs open).

– Coolidge to Greenfield Highway: Three left courts are blocked (one lane open).

The left lane of the Western I-696 between Dequindre and I-75 has already been blocked and stays closed till the tip of 2026, based on a launch of the Michigan Division of Transportation.

The Coolidge-Rit to Westbound I-696 may even stay closed till the tip of 2026.

Eastbound I-696 between M-10 (Lodge Freeway/Northwestern Freeway) and I-75 closed Monday 3 March and stay till the tip of 2026.

The closures are a part of the ultimate part of Mdot’s Restore the Reuther Undertaking, by which I-696 shall be rebuilt between Lahser Highway and Dequindre.
