Perry Bamonte, The Cure guitarist, dies at home at 65 after illness

Perry Bamonte, former guitarist and keyboardist of The Treatment, died through the Christmas holidays. He was 65.

The band released a statement on their official web site confirming Bamonte’s loss of life, noting that he “handed away after a short sickness.”

“It’s with immense disappointment that we affirm the loss of life of our expensive good friend and bandmate Perry Bamonte, who handed away at residence over Christmas after a short sickness,” the band wrote. “Quiet, intense, intuitive, fixed and enormously artistic: ‘Teddy’ was a heartfelt and important a part of The Treatment story.”

The assertion went on to inform how he grew to become a full-time member of the band in 1990, occurring to play many devices together with guitar, keyboard and six-string bass on 5 albums, together with “Want,” “Wild Temper Swings” and “Bloodflowers,” “in addition to performing greater than 400 reveals over 14 years.”
