Basic Motors purchased Willow Run in 1956, after a fireplace destroyed his Livonia transmission manufacturing unit just a few years earlier. After he had moved his Detroit Transmission Division to the manufacturing unit, it employed 8,000 individuals on common and was appreciated at greater than $ 22 million. GM’s Powertrain Division labored till 2010 at Willow Run (near the previous Willow Run Meeting Manufacturing unit, which was closed within the Nineties after GM had moved his manufacturing to Arlington, Texas) by that point, GM was in chapter and the chapter the Ownership was transferred to Racer Trust.
