Normal Motors purchased Willow Run in 1956, after a hearth destroyed his Livonia transmission manufacturing facility a couple of years earlier. After he had moved his Detroit Transmission Division to the manufacturing facility, it employed 8,000 individuals on common and was appreciated at greater than $ 22 million. GM’s Powertrain Division labored till 2010 at Willow Run (near the previous Willow Run Meeting Manufacturing facility, which was closed within the Nineteen Nineties after GM had moved his manufacturing to Arlington, Texas) by that point, GM was in chapter and the chapter the Ownership was transferred to Racer Trust. The court-controlled Belief was accused of sustaining, cleansing up and promoting the handfuls of former GM property of MOTS, many in Michigan.
