Rochester school board president resigns

The chairman of the Rochester college board resigned efficient March 1 with practically three years left in his time period.

Jessica Gupta was appointed to the Rochester Group Faculties board in March 2022 and retained her seat within the November 2022 election. Her time period expired on December 31, 2028.

She was elected president lower than a month in the past after serving as vice chairman final 12 months.

“Presently, I’ve determined to refocus my time and vitality,” Gupta wrote in a letter saying her resignation. “It has been a real honor to serve our college students, households and neighborhood within the position of trustee since 2022. I’m deeply grateful for the chance to work with a devoted superintendent, colleagues on the board, administrative group and devoted employees who, like me, care deeply in regards to the success and well-being of our college students.”

The district will announce the appliance course of within the coming days and the appointed time period will start instantly and proceed via the November 2026 election.

The phrases of secretary and former board chair Michelle Bueltel and treasurer Julie Alspach additionally expire in November.
